MTU completes 5,000th engine overhaul

mtu_berlin_rep_01071Ludwigsfelde – MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg has reached a milestone the history of the company: Since its foundation in 1991, it has now overhauled a total 5,000 engines, of which 3,500 are engines from Pratt & Whitney Canada, 500 CF34 engines and 1,000 industrial gas turbines.


In addition, the company has supported its customers with many on-site and field visits as well as module repairs.  “We are very proud of our success”, said André Sinanian, Managing Director of MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg. “The number of engines that come into our shop demonstrates that we are on the right track in the MRO market. We are confident that we will further continue down this road in the future.”

MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg is the second largest maintenance location in the MTU network of companies and focuses on the repair and overhaul of commercial turboshaft and turbojet  engines and of industrial gas turbines. The company has a joint venture with Pratt & Whitney Canada for the support of P&WC engines operated by European, African and Middle East customers. PT6A, PW200, PW300 and PW500 series engines are being supported. A shining star in the engine portfolio is the General Electric CF34, the best-selling engine in its class. The Ludwigsfelde-based shop is an authorized CF34TM service provider. In the industrial gas turbine field, the company has specialized in the repair of GE's LM series. The facility is MTU Aero Engines' IGT center of excellence. It also has the only production test cell to perform development and acceptance tests on the TP400-D6 engine to power the A400M military transport.
